Katie Holmes made her fame on the hit 90’s television show Dawson’s Creek. After years of up-and-downs in film, it appears as if Ms. Holmes is prepared to make a triumphant return to the small screen. According to GossipCenter, Katie Holmes is prepared to star in an upcoming ABC pilot that is yet to be titled. The reports say that Holmes will be playing a “well-bred and educated woman who runs a philanthropic foundation with her husband”. Her title character’s name is Ann.
Entertainment Weekly said the series will be a high-society drama that will take place in the swanky Upper East Side of Manhattan. Richard LaGravenese, who wrote Behind the Candlebra, will scribe the series. It’s sure to contain plenty of high-end clothing, snooty society functions, and the backstabbing that audiences so crave.
This is Holmes’ big return to a major television show. I’m not going to lie – the introduction to the pilot has generated little interest among the public. If she hits a home run with this show it could revive her career. If it’s a terrible flop, there’s not much hope left for Holmes as an actress. We will keep you posted as the show develops…
